What's the ground like?

The fact that Portsmouth are planning a new ground says it all about there old stadium. Fratton Park is one of the smallest grounds in the premiership.

The Portsmouth fans are known as some of the best in the country and its well worth visiting the stadium just for that. There's isn't a lot more to make the long journey for.

Directions

Take M27 and M275 to the end then take the 2nd exit at the roundabout and after ? mile turn right at the 'T' junction into London Road (A2047).

After 1? miles cross the railway bridge and turn left into Goldsmith Avenue. After ? mile turn left into Fogmore Road

Parking

There is very little parking around the ground however there is some on surrounding streets but we advice you arrive early to avoid disappointment.

The closest car park is located at St Mary's Hospital on the A288, just go past the hospital and you will come to a pay and display car park however once again arrive early as it fills up very early.

Away Fan's Experience

The away fan is located in the Milton End and are only allocated 1,200 tickets. Take a coat when traveling here, as the away end is the only stand that does not have a roof in the premier league so expect the worst when it comes to the weather on the south coast.

This stand has been said to be one of the worst away stands in professional English football. With portaloos and a small variety of refreshments this isn't the best around.

Where to drink

The Good Companian - This pub is located on the A2030 into the City from the A3. Its a ten minute walk from the ground and because of its size is usually the main pub for away fans.

Connaught Arms - The pub is located at the junction of Penhale and Guildford Road and is popular with home and away fans. They serve a good selection of draught beers as well as some great pasties.

We have also been told that if you head towards Milton Road there are many pubs located here.
