What's the ground like?

City of Manchester is not only one of the newest football stadiums in the premiership but also one of the best i have ever visited. Everything about it you think just how impressive it is.

Shame the City fans don't fill it more often.

Directions

Leave the M6 at Junction 19 and follow the A556 towards Stockport and then join the M56 going towards Stockport. Continue onto the M60 passing Stockport and heading on towards Ashton Under Lyne.

Leave the M60 at Junction 23 and take the A635 towards Manchester. Branch off onto the A662 (Ashton New Road) towards Droylsd e n/Manchester. Stay on the A662 for around three miles and you will reach the Stadium on your right.

Parking

Car Parking is available at the football ground itself for around £5, however we do recommend you get there early to guarantee yourself a space.

There are also many unofficial car parks around the ground for around £4 - £7, we do advice not to park on streets due to a residents only parking scheme in the area.

Away Fan's Experience

Away fans are located in the South Stand and usually have around 3,000 tickets available. This is a very modern ground and one of the best also. The views are also one of the best around so this stadium is highly recommended.

Beware as you do sit next to home supporters and there is usually plenty of banter as you would expect. The offer a very good choice of refreshments and they do serve alcohol in the ground both before and at half time.

Where to drink

The Stanley - The Stanley (A.K.A The Sports Bar) is located 10 minutes walk from the ground. It only allows a small minority of away supporters into the pub. They do charge a £1 entry fee for adults. If you head towards the big Asda superstore located by the ground you should come across this pub.

The Derby - The Derby is usually full of Aston Villa fans and as a good atmosphere. However there are also home fans found here. More info to appear here in due course.
