What's the ground like?
Anfield is a very dated stadium and they are crying for a new stadium. There are plans for a new stadium in Stanley Park but nothing is official as of yet.
Anfield can create a great atmosphere and is known for its European nights.
Directions
Leave the M6 at Junction 23 and take the A580 (East Lancashire Rd) signposted to Liverpool. Follow the A580, passing under the M57 (11 miles) then under a railway bridge (2.75 miles) finally (0.75 mile later) turn left onto the A5058 (Queens Drive) towards Widnes.
Proceed for 0.5 mile turning right at the lights into Utting Avenue. Pass under the railway bridge which continues into Arkles Lane. Please note that this area is a residents parking zone and a valid permit is required to park your car in any street within this vicinity. The ground is just to the right at the far end of Arkles Lane.
Parking

Parking around anfield on match day as been known to be a nightmare. We do advise you to use public transport, or coach hire service, however if you do decide to make your own way to Anfield here are some parking ideas.
If you arrive early enough you can park on the streets around Goodison Park, which is situated across stanley park. Approx 10 minute walk away.
Local schools and venues usually also open there land up to allow match day parking also, which you should expect to pay around £5 - £7.

Away Fan's Experience

Away fans are located in the Anfield Road stand and are usually surrounded by home fans. Liverpool fans sit on either side of you as well as above you, so be aware as Liverpool fans have a reputation for throwing objects during the game.
The Anfield Road Stand isn't the best, and we advise you to sit as close to the front of the stand as possible, as the closer you are to the back, the less of the match you are likely to see. They offer beverages inside the ground from burgers to crisps and drinks. No alcohol is served inside this ground.
Where to drink

The Arkles - The Arkles is situated 5 minutes walk from Anfield on Anfield Road and is usually fairly busy with home and away fans. Aston Villa fans do often take over this pub which then goes on to create a pretty good atmosphere. The Avillafan.com team use this pub.
The Albert - The Albert is also known for good atmosphere on match days and is located on the corner of The Kop. Very often a home pub of hardcore Liverpool fans.
The Sandon - The Sandon is the furthest pub to walk of the three pubs we've featured. Its located on Walten Breck Road. We have no experience of this pub, if you have used this pub and could help us out here please let us know.
