What's the ground like?

Stamford Bridge as excellant facilities and is very modern. It boasts five restuarants, luxury appartments and a hotel.

Since Roman Abromovich brought the football club the atmosphere at Stamford Bridge isnt what it used to be and tends to be pretty poor from the home fans.

Directions

From the M25 - junction 15 turn off onto the M4 towards London, follow the M4 which becomes the A4 up to Hammersmith. Stay on it over the Hammersmith flyover and for a further 1.5 miles before turning off for Earls Court.

Go past Earls Court station and down the one way system until you hit Fulham Road, turn right at the traffic lights. Go straight on for 600 yards and the ground is on your right. Parking is difficult very close to the ground so you may want to look a bit further away.

Parking

Car parking on surrounding streets are pay and display or residents only.

There is a underground carpark at Stamford Bridge available for upto £20 an hour but there is no entry 1 hour before kick-off. Also its a first come basis so we do reccommend getting there within plenty of time.

Apart from this there isnt a lot of parking around Stamford Bridge, like other London grounds so we would reccommend you avoided using your car unless you really want to.

Away Fan's Experience

The away section at Stamford bridge is very clean, modern and its obvious you are in the wealthier area in London. The away fans are usually located in the East Stand Lower, unless you play there in a FA Cup tie where you will be given the option of both upper and lower tears depending on the demand. For a normal league game once again away fans get two choices, Chelsea will offer 2,200 tickets at first and if they are sold they will then offer a extra 1,800 tickets.

The seating is average and like most modern day football grounds isnt to kind to the talller man. You can buy a variety of beverages inside the ground including alcohol, but the staff working at the kiosks are the best so expect long ques.

Also, if you are going to be late arriving at the ground, you might aswell turn back and go home, as the stewards refuse entry once the game as kicked off.

Where to drink

The Blackbird - The Blackbird is located right next to the tube station and is the only pub reccommended to be used by away fans. There is usually a pretty good atmosphere from the travelling Aston Villa fans.

Scruffy Murphys - Scruffy Murphys is a five minute walk from the ground and is located just past the Esso garage on the Fulham Road. This is a pretty decent match day pub.
