The season end is just a couple of months away and the transfer talk is starting with the latest talk involving two players in, and two out. Let’s start with the two players linked with a move TO Villa Park.
The Sunday Mirror claimed yesterday that Paul Lambert will look at former Swansea winger Scott Sinclair. The 23-year old has struggled since his £6.2million move and it is thought that his 40k a week wages wouldn’t be a major issue for Paul Lambert.
It is unclear whether he would be interested in a move but sources close to the player suggest he needs to leave to prevent ruining his long term career prospects.
The same paper are also claiming that Villa will go in for Joleon Lescott who we were strongly linked with in the summer after the player had fallen out of favour this season with manager Roberto Mancini.
Lescott, who captained England in their 8-0 victory over San Marino on Friday night, is a well-known Aston Villa supporter but his wages will remain the stumbling block.
Andreas Weimann has already been linked with the likes of Inter Milan and will probably be linked with just about any club across Europe who are in need of a striker between now and the end of the season.
I wouldn’t worry too much though as I believe that the Austrian’s heart belongs to Aston Villa and his future will be determined by the division Villa find themselves in next season.
Finally, 15 year old Dan Crowley has been linked with a move to Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal. The midfielder has been dubbed the next ‘Jack Wilshere’ after impressing for the academy and the England U17s. Crowley was first called up for the England U16 squad in 2011 for the game against Northern Ireland and the player has so far made 13 appearances for the U16 and U17 sides.
