But seems like Mat Kendrick & other sources are saying differently.

18:45 -Telegraph Sport ‏(@TelegraphSport) have just posted the following regarding a loan move for Stoke’s Palacios

“#AVFC are in talks with #SCFC over the signing of Palacios. Stoke have signed Brek Shea, the US international (and probable anagram …)”

“Wilson Palacios left in his Rolls Royce driven by his agent. #Stoke #bbctransfernews”

18:43 – Stephen Warnock’s wife @laurawarnock3 has confirmed he is joining Leeds. She tweeted:

12:34PM – New signing Yacouba Sylla has just uploaded the following picture to his Twitter page (@91_yacou)

Aston Villa FC (‏@AVFCOfficial) has also posted the following tweet “Yacouba Sylla’s signing from French club Clermont Foot will be completed this afternoon. #AVFC”

Head of Media Brian Doogan had this to say regarding Sylla imminent transfer

Yacouba Sylla’s signing from French club Clermont Foot will be completed this afternoon.

The 22-year-old midfield player has passed a medical and only the formalities remain, with both clubs due to finalise paperwork before Sylla’s registration is lodged with the Premier League and the transfer receives international clearance.

Sylla has featured for the France U21 team and he has attracted interest not only from other Premier League clubs but also French Ligue 1, Serie A and Bundesliga teams.

He will train tomorrow at Bodymoor Heath with his new team-mates and will be eligible to play against Everton on Saturday at Goodison Park.

12:00PM – Pete Colley of Sky Sports News, has confirmed via Twitter that Darren Bent will remain at Villa

10:51AM – Darren Bent’s odds on joining Arsenal have gone from 33/1 to 6/1 on Bet Victor according to OddsChanger.

10:19AM – Express & Star writer, Timothy Abraham, has just tweeted the following:

“Tweeted pic of a Belgian bun in Aug ahead of Benteke’s arrival. What could this mean today though?”

Tony G ‏@phoopipe has suggested to Tim “Barry banana apple(arently) linked with Tangerines ? Bannan is gone !!!”

or could it be my suggestion Abdoulaye Ba?

10:15AM – Peter Smith has tweeted regarding Lambert mulling over a move for Kenwyne Jones, after the 28 year old priced himself out of a move to Swansea

9:20AM – Daily Mirror writer, James Nursey, has confirmed that Villa’s interest in defender Rolando could be over. According to reports in Italy, he is set to sign for Napoli.

Peter Smith of the BBC, has just Tweeted that Peter Crouch has completed his move to QPR according to the QPR exec.

Could this pave the way for Darren Bent to sign for The Potters?

8:00AM – The deal of Yacouba Sylla looks set to be completed by lunchtime today. With the French International completing a move for around £1.75m.

The Under 21 defensive midfielder was also scouted by Patrick Vieira. Sources close to Man City stated that Vieira had recommended Sylla as a target for the club, comparing him to Yaya Touré.

James Nursey of the Daily Mirror, stated just after Midnight, that Villa would look aboard at another centre back, after Richard Dunne hit yet another set back with his infamous groin injury.

Many have stated that the club might look at Germany, no other details have been given. But, it has been published that Villa are looking into centre backs Rolando & Porto’s Ba.

Darren Bent COULD be on his way out of Villa Park. Stoke have joined long line of clubs linked with the Villa striker. The deal is all down to if Peter ‘Rodney Trotter’ Crouch joins former boss, Harry Redknapp, at QPR & if Villa could get a replacement.

The fee is rumoured to be around £10m & many ITKs have stated that Kenwyne Jones or Charlie Adam could be used as part of a deal to sign the £85,000 per week striker.

Finally, rumours of Florent Malouda joining Villa on loan do not seem to be going away.

As you can see, anything can happen with Villa. Question is, who will be next?

  1. I feel like we could of done better for signings. I like Sylla dont ge tme wrong there, but defence wise – Upshaw and Delap both made moves in the window, couldnt we of afforded one of them also? Or even Diame from the Hammers.

  2. Simon Dawkins looks like a real find. Watched a youtube video and some of his passing and finishing were superb. I don’t know much about the other young lad we signed. I still feel a central defender is a must. I reckon Samba was a missed opportunity for us..
