Why Villa must beat QPR!

If there was ever a time for Aston Villa to book themselves a ticket to the Premier League next season, it’s right now. Steve Bruce’s team are currently sat in third place in the Championship and with what should be an easy win against QPR on Saturday, they should have all they need to catch up with the likes of Cardiff City.

Villa will be hoping to beat QPRVilla showed no shortage of goal-scoring skills when they demolished Sheffield Wednesday last week. Not only did the 4-2 victory show that the team have plenty of spirits, but it also revealed a turnaround in fortunes after disappointing performances against the likes of Fulham and Preston.

Bruce’s team should have a comfortable time playing against QPR who have had a mediocre season so far. The Loftus Road faithful recently had to suffer a humiliating 5-2 home defeat against Nottingham Forest, and it is clear that they could be in line for plenty more trouble against an in-form Villa.

However, it’s important to remember that Villa has been suffering from some pretty nasty injuries that could hamper their chances of automatic promotion. With star goal-scorers like Albert Adomah having to sit out some recent matches, it’s hoped that there is enough strength in depth in the Villa side to go the distance.

It remains to be seen whether injury-struck players like Jack Grealish and Andre Green will be fit enough to make the clash against QPR on Saturday. And it’s clear that Jonathan Kodjia’s long-standing injuries have also hampered Villa’s Premier League ambitions this season.

Despite this, it’s evident that the upcoming match is Villa’s best chance to recapture the astonishing form that they enjoyed at the start of the year where they managed to win seven successive league games.

So it falls upon players like Conor Hourihane to help Villa maintain their upward momentum. The Irish star has managed to pick up many important goals throughout the 2017/18. And whilst his dancing skills might have attracted plenty of social media attention, it’s clear that it’s his goalscoring prowess that has the potential to help Villa gain that all-important automatic promotion.

This is all the more important as Villa have an incredibly difficult match against Wolves on 10 March. This fiercely competitive match against the league-leaders will see Bruce’s team severely tested and it’s going to be impossible to predict how that match might go. Whilst betting websites like gamblingkingz.co.uk can offer us a degree of safety in our gambling, it’s clear that this thrilling West Midlands showdown is not going to be so simple.

The last time that Villa and Wolves met it resulted in a bruising affair that saw Wolves walking away 2-0 winners but it seems that the tide might be turning as Villa realise that it’s now or never to finally return to their deserved place in the Premier League next season.
