Davis in demand.

Davis scored against Barnsley

Rumours have recently surface that Premiership side Brighton & Hove Albion have recently expressed interest in young striker Keinan Davis by lodging a £3,000,000 bid for the player.

The 19-year-old is in his breakthrough season with Villa having scored three goals in all competitions but there is so much more to his game that it is easy to see why there is interest from the Premiership.

Reports suggest that both Brighton and Bournemouth have had scouts watching the striker who has recently been drafted into the England u-20 squad.

Davis made quite the statement when he was introduced to the Villa Park faithful against Norwich this season. He impressed so much on his debut you would have thought he had been a first team player for some time.

The Stevenage born player caused the Canneries defence problems all game and even assisted Conor Hourihane with the opener on the day.

Davis signed a new deal with Villa.Davis scored his first goal in claret and blue on the 16th of September against Barnsley when he headed home an Ahmed Elmohamady cross from the right.

If you had one critisism in the player it would be his lack of goals but I am sure he would admit that he needs to improve that side of his game himself. His hold up play and the ability to bring his team mates into play is a joy to behold.

Davis has been taken out of the spotlight recently with manager Steve Bruce stating that he was exhausted and needed a break. Scott Hogan has featured in the last two games and impressed with his first Championship goal of the season in the 5-0 thrashing over Bristol City.

The reported £3,000,000 offer will no doubt be knocked back by Villa who recently tied down the youngster on a new three year contract. It is unclear if a bidding war will start for his services but I am sure the club would like to keep hold of a player who his rated very highly by those at B6.

I personally can’t see Davis leaving the club anytime soon, especially while Bruce is still in charge. Many have their views of the former Hull manager but he was the man who gave the former Biggleswade striker his debut and I am sure would have played a big part in getting him to sign a new deal.
