Aston Villa vs Peterborough
15:00 – Saturday 06th January
Villa Park, Birmingham
Aston Villa will welcome League 1 side Peterborough United to Villa Park tomorrow for the FA Cup third round fixture.
Both sides may use this fixture to blood some of their younger players as both have priorities elsewhere.
The home side will go into the fixture following back to back wins in the Championship which saw them score six goals and keep two clean sheets. Steve Bruce’s men also climbed back into the playoff spots.
Grant McCann and his Peterborough side will arrive at Villa Park on the back of one defeat in five and they find themselves just two places and points outside the playoff positions in League 1.
Bruce has made no secret that he plans to use some of his younger players and those returning from injuries.
John Terry and Andre Green have both been back in training for two weeks now and will start this game, while Josh Onomah is also in contention after returning from a concussion.
Keinan Davis, Rushian Hepburn-Murphy and Cal O’Hare are all expected to play some part and Henri Lansbury is expected around half an hour as he continues his come back. Scott Hogan is unavailable with an ankle problem.
Posh will have goalkeeper Jonathan Bond available after he renewed his loan spell from Reading.
Jack Baldwin could also make a return for the visitors after being absent for four weeks with a hamstring problem. Midfielder Gwion Edwards will miss out following an ankle operation.
Tickets are still available for today’s clash but fans are advised to buy in advance where possible as the club are expecting busy cash turnstiles.
Prices are from £15 for adults, £10 for concessions and £1 for u16’s. Click here to purchase tickets.
Peterborough are travelling very well in their numbers with over 4,000 supporters expected to be at Villa Park today.
