Aston Villa will today head up the M6 to take on Preston North End in the Championship which will be live on Sky Sports. Around 2,600 supporters are expect to travel.
Steve Bruce’s team currently sit sixth in the playoffs, seven points off the top of the Championship table. Villa are currently on a decent run in the league having only lost one in their last 12 league games.
Alex Neil and his Preston side are ninth in the Championship, just two points off the playoff positions. Despite a strong start to the season, they have failed to win in four league games.
Preston have picked up 12 points from a possible 21 at Deepdale while Villa have managed just 8 points on the road.
Aston Villa will be without striker Jonathan Kodjia who picked up an ankle injury against Birmingham on Sunday. The official website have revealed that tests are ongoing but early signs are encouraging.
Mile Jedinak will be hoping for a start after coming on as a substitute and impressing against Blues. Both Henri Lansbury (knee) and Jack Grealish (kidney) played for the u23’s 6-0 win over Newcastle on Monday night and could travel.
Gabriel Agbonlahor is still injured but Neil Taylor is available after a three match suspension.
Neil’s side have big problems at the back with captain Paul Huntington suspended and Ben Davies, Tommy Spurr, Tom Clarke and Greg Cunningham all out injured.
Midfielder Alan Browne is available however after serving his suspension.
