Aston Villa v Bolton – Preview

Possibly the best bit of recruitment?

Aston Villa v Bolton Wanderers
15:00 – Saturday 30th September 2017
Villa Park, Birmingham

Aston Villa welcomes Bolton Wanderers to Villa Park tomorrow for the first meeting between the two teams since 2012 when the away side come away with a 2-1 victory.

Steve Bruce’s men will be looking to build on their recent run of form that has seen them win their last three games, scoring seven and conceding just one goal in those games. Villa starts the weekend just two points outside of the playoff positions in 8th position.

Bolton hasn’t had the best of times since getting promoted from League 1 in the summer picking up just two points and losing eight of their ten games so far this season. Phil Parkinson will be hoping for a change of fortune as Wanderers have lost their last seven league games with their last point coming against Villa’s rivals from across the city, Birmingham. They currently find themselves rock bottom of the Championship.

It is no real surprise when Unibet promo code 2017 are offering good odds on the home side to come away with all three points here.

Mile Jedinak will once again miss out with a groin injury but Bruce is hoping to have the Australian midfield back for the derby with Wolves after the International break.

Henri Lansbury will also miss out but Gabby Agbonlahor is fit to face Bolton if called upon.

Bruce spoke how good it was to see Jack Grealish back training but he stressed he wouldn’t rush the England u21 start back due to the seriousness of his injury. Andre Green will be out for a while longer as his leg is still in a brace.

Bolton will be without Filipe Moais who is suspended but midfielder Jem Karacan is available after serving his suspension.

Stephen Darby, Will Buckley and Ben Alnwick will all be assessed as they recover from injuries.

  • This is the first time the two sides have met outside the top flight since 1975.
  • Bolton has won both of their last two visits to Villa Park.
  • Bruce has won nine of his last eleven games against Bolton.
  • Villa have failed to lose in any of their last seven Championship fixtures.

There are still tickets available with around 30,000 expected at Villa Park.

Adults tickets are available from £20, Under 16’s from £5. Purchase tickets here.
