Aston Villa v Middlesbrough
Sky Bet Championship
19.45 – Tuesday 12th September 2017
Villa Park, Birmingham

Aston Villa welcomes Middlesbrough to Villa Park tonight in the second match in four days at Villa Park. It will be the first meeting between the two sides in the next 7-days as they meet again in the EFL Cup next week also.

Steve Bruce’s side has managed just one win in six Championship games this season and will be looking to improve that – as well as their lackluster performances.

Middlesbrough has picked up 10 points from a possible 18 this season and Gary Monk will be looking for his team to take advantage of the pressure Bruce currently finds himself under at Villa Park.

TEAM NEWS

Jonathan Kodjia could be set to return but only on the bench depending on how he felt after featuring for the u23’s against Southampton last night.

Mile Jedinak could be in line for his first start of the season following his return from injury. He was an unused substitute against Brentford the weekend.

Josh Onomah, Keinan Davis, and Andre Green are all doubts, after all, going off injured on Saturday.

Middlesbrough are without former Aston Villa striker Rudi Gestede after he had surgery on a dead leg.

New signing Marvin Johnson will be hoping for a start after coming off the bench to score Boro’s third in a 3-0 win over Bolton on Saturday. Ryan Shotten will continue on the bench as he waits to make his debut.
