John Terry? Yes please.

Terry is now 6/4 to sign for Aston Villa.

Chelsea announced yesterday that John Terry would be ending his 22-year career with the Blues at the end of the current season after falling down the pecking order.

The 36-year-old is no spring chicken but still, believes he has something to give in his playing career and will be looking to continue his career elsewhere this summer.

Steve Bruce jokingly said: “Well he can come to us if he wants. In fact, I might just get on the phone right now.

John Terry has a love or hate reputation with fans outside of Chelsea. Most admire his hard work and determination on the field but his ‘arrogance’ and some of the things he has been reported doing in his career didn’t go down to well with supporters.John Terry will be available this summer.

The former England international defender has made 578 appearances and scored 66 goals for Chelsea. Not too shabby for a defender, don’t you think?

On top of that Terry has won 14 major honours including the Premiership four times and arguably his greatest achievement the Uefa Champions League in 2012.

Virtually Impossible.

If we are honest the chances of this happening are slim to virtually impossible. Like many former Premiership players, I wouldn’t be surprised if Terry went abroad to the States or even to China and had one last pay day.

Some Villa supporters would like to claim that we are better than John Terry due to his age and for the various reasons why they hate him but I think if the opportunity did arise – we would be stupid to dismiss it.

His leadership qualities alone are something that would enhance our squad no end and I don’t believe you can put a price on those skills. He would help the younger lads come through and hopefully add that never die attitude to the club.

As I have already stated the chance of this actually happening are very slim so don’t get too excited or your knickers in a twist if you would be against the move but as the crazy transfer season is almost upon us. I can dream, can’t I?
