It’s that time again: the new EA Sports FIFA 17 video game has been released and, after last season’s disaster, this will be the first time since the series of games was created that Aston Villa start a career mode in the Championship.
The game that has been the obsession of gamers since 1993 returns with a new game mode. ‘The Journey’ allows you to take control of the entire journey of a player called Alex Hunter. You have to start in the Premier League but Villa fans will be able to see him pull on the famous claret and blue by selecting the club as Hunter’s loan destination.
Outside of the new feature, the game will once again feature the popular game mode, ‘Ultimate Team’ and, after the lows of last season, you would expect that all of the Villa players would have had their ratings decreased. That’s not the case though, with twelve players receiving improved ratings.
Jordan Ayew, Jordan Amavi, André Green and Jerrell Sellars are the only ones who were at Aston Villa last season to have earned increases. However, all of the summer signings except for Mile Jedinak have earned a rise after impressing with their former clubs.
Two of those signings, captain Tommy Elphick and Aaron Tshibola, are Villa’s biggest movers, with a +4 rating, whereas Micah Richards and Aly Cissokho suffer the biggest drop with a decrease of -2.
If you want to create yourself an all-Villa XI on ‘Ultimate Team’ then here are the important details that you need to know. Last season’s ratings are in brackets.
