Leicester City v Aston Villa – opposition view

In Opposition Views

The Villans return from the international break and will make a short trip up to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester City on Sunday.

I spoke to Chris Forryan from Leicester Till I Die ahead of the clash.

1)  It seems to have been an odd summer at Leicester City. How has it been viewed by fans?

It’s been interesting. Pinch me to make sure I’m not dreaming, with over £30 million worth of talent sat on our bench against Tottenham. It’s sad but not unexpected that Pearson left and I’m surprised but happy that Ranieri arrived. He can’t tinker any more than Pearson did last season.

2) Describe Ranieri in three words.

Charming, amenable, knowledgeable.

3) What are your thoughts on Tim Sherwood?

He’s a bright young English manager. H needs to be given a chance as he wasn’t at Tottenham Hotspur. I hope he is given as long as Paul Lambert was but with more success for you, which, if he gets the time, he could do.

4) Who is the one Villa player you don’t rate?

I love this question but it is a hard one to answer. Whilst I can’t say I don’t rate him, I think Joe Cole is past his best and may be a luxury you cannot afford if you find yourselves in another relegation fight.

5) Who should the Villans keep an eye out for on Sunday?

There are a lot to choose from this season. If he starts after the recent success of Inler, Andy King can be a handful. Often underrated, he can control the midfield without a calmness and without the need to be spectacular. He scored the odd goal as well.

6) Who would you take from the Villa team and put in the Leicester side?

We already have one of your best ex-players in Marc Albrighton but I would have to say, unsurprisingly, I guess, Jack Grealish. He’s a great prospect and would not look out of place in a top six side. You may have problems keeping hold of him in January.

7)  How can you see your season panning out?

Better than I thought a few months ago. Safety is the main goal, as it is for Villa after both our flirtations with relegation last season.

Whilst we haven’t played any so-called big boys yet, if we can continue the way we have started a top ten finish would not be out of the question.

8) What is your match prediction?

2-1 to Leicester.

Extra tme:

9) A Pukka pie or a burger?

Burger: I’m not really a pie person.

10)  Orange juice or apple juice?

I am a cider person so it has to be apple juice!
