With our Premiership safety confirmed last weekend, we now travel to White Hart Lane for the final game of the season. I have asked members of The Spurs Web for their views on the upcoming fixture and the season in general:
How has this season gone for you?
Average. It’s been a step back but that’s no wonder when you sell one of the top talents in world football.
With Bale leaving for a world record transfer fee, were you happy with your purchases in the summer?
No, there was too much upheaval and we were buying players for the sake of it.
Were you upset by the Andre Villas Boas sacking?
No: he looked unhappy, we couldn’t score from open play, our goal ratio was poor and we were shipping in goals plus he was starting to pick fights with the fans and the media, which wasn’t clever.
Rumours are that Tim Sherwood will be relieved of his duties in the summer. Would you be happy with this? If so, who would you want in to replace him?
Yes, he needs to wind his ego in a bit. He may do well in the future but needs to work under a number one who is good tactically. He has the passion.
I’d like to see Frank De Boer brought in.
Who has been your player of the season and why?
Hugo Lloris. He should be at a club with more ambition than our chairman has shown but has still performed magnificently and given his all, which is more than can be said of Vertonghen.
Which Aston Villa player would you want to see joining your team and why?
Benteke would be the obvious choice as we lack goals.
Which player should we fear the most in our clash this afternoon?
Eriksen. He’s our attacking spark and our most consistent forward player. Adebayor on his day will be difficult to handle – but will he turn up?
What is your opinion of Aston Villa Football Club?
A sleeping giant. With the right investment, Villa could easily be pushing like Everton and us.
What is your match prediction?
Anything can happen with these two teams but I’ll go for a home, 2-0 win – Eriksen and Kane.
Which team do you think will win the World Cup?
Lager or cider?
Summer = cider and winter = lager.
Thanks to the staff and members of The Spurs Web for their co-operation.
