Crystal Palace – Opposition View

In Opposition Views

This Saturday will see a big relegation clash at Selhurst Park between Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, with the winning side virtually guaranteed safety for another season, in my opinion. I have been on holmesdale.net to ask some Crystal Palace fans what they think about the fixture, amongst other things.

How has your season gone so far?

We’ve improved massively. We may not score many but we don’t leak goals. Having an organised defence and outstanding performances week in, week out from Ward and Speroni have gotten us as far as we are now.

What were your first thoughts when Tony Pulis became manager?

He’s never had a team relegated and did a fantastic job at Stoke. I was happy as he was the best person for the job.

What are your thoughts on Barry Bannan and Joe Ledley?

Bannan was one of our few good summer signings and is unlucky not to be getting much of a look in as he didn’t really put a foot wrong.

Ledley has taken a while to adapt but has a bit of class about him and he is playing very well at the moment. Good signing.

What is your thoughts on foreign ownership of clubs like Manchester City and Chelsea?

It’s part of the game these days. I am happier with the board we have now and being owned by four real supporters of the club.

I would rather have the guys at Chelsea and City though than, for example, the likes of Tan at Cardiff.

Which player should Aston Villa fear this weekend and why?

Fear none of them individually – we have no world beaters – but fear them all as a collective unit.

Which Aston Villa player would you like to have in your team?

Benteke, if he was fit, obviously, but Delph would probably walk into any Premier League side so I’d take him.

What is your opinion of Aston Villa Football Club?

It is a proper club with a great history. Should be a top six club but doubt that will happen again for quite a while. You have good, vocal fans.

What is your match prediction?

1-0, either way. Two counter-attacking teams, with possibly a set piece deciding the result.

Extra time:

Chinese or Indian food?

Indian by a mile.

Jennifer Lawrence or Scarlett Johansson?

Scarlett Johansson for a dirty weekend away and Jennifer Lawrence to come home to every night.

Thanks to the staff and users of holmesdale.net for their assistance.
